The Beginning

MICO was born in prayer in January of 1994 when God gave a vision to Mrs. Barbara Brock together with her husband, Paul. The vision was to establish a safe place that people could go to for fellowship and prayer and also to receive good counsel and biblical advice from caring Christian community members. Soon after they decided to pursue this call, prayer walking began in the inner city followed by Men's Bible study and CEF Good News Clubs for kids. The ministry space located at the corner of 7th Street and Boots later opened its doors in 2000 for the coffee house ministry to begin and fulfill the vision. Since then, many adults have been impacted for Christ through this ministry and Bible study. After school tutoring for children was added in December of 2008 and continues to grow in number of kids and hours of availability.

We Exist To:

  1. Communicate the love, power, and hope of the gospel to those residing in the inner city area of Marion, IN.
  2. To communicate with churches the vital role they play in reaching out to their local community on behalf of Christ.

Our Desire is To:

See Spirit-led believers, with conviction, step out in boldness to use their gifts, interests, and resources to meet the needs found in the inner city of Marion. We seek to be an avenue and space for the church to live out the Great Commission and see transformation come to individuals and a city.
